Looking a little
out of place on my first trip to another country...Mexico on a budget family vacation. |

I have an aunt
and uncle who live in Sydney, Australia. I visited them in '89 and visited sites from
Canberra to the south to Queensland to the north. |

After college, I
took a year off to teach English in Poland, and in the process found myself helping to
launch a new college that was housed in the former Communist Party headquarters in
Szczecin. Great experience...this photo was taken while visiting Poznan with fellow
teachers. |
 |
I made many trips
to Czechoslovakia and Hungary during my year in Poland. |
 |

I entered Poland through East Berlin, a week before German Reunification. By the time I
returned to Berlin for a visit later in the Fall, most of the Berlin Wall had already been
removed or largely chipped away. |
 |
A Greek college
classmate of mine hosted me in Athens, Greece over Christmas in '90. |
 |
It was no small
pilgrimage to reach a remote Denmark town to see the original "Legoland." It was
worth it. (I've spoken to one person who thought that I had mistakenly inserted a
picture from Mt. Rushmore here, but I swear that what you see here is a monument made of
Legos.) |
 |
I spent the
Fourth of July in 1991 hiking through beautiful Alpine trails in Austria...all part of
backpacking my way through Western Europe on my way back to the United States. |
 |
Outside Salzburg,
Germany, on the "Sound of Music" tour. |
 |
A group of Darden
students were contracted for a consulting project to value cellular francise licenses
coming up for bid in India. We had time during Spring Break for sightseeing. |
 |
Mayan pyramids
outside Mexico City, where I was visiting an old college classmate who was working for
TelMex. |
 |
My family rented
a Tuscan villa in the off season, then spent a few days in Rome. |
